From Montalcino to San Quirico d’Orcia
Leave Montalcino from Porta Brunelli and head through the locality Gli Angeli passing vineyards which produce the renown Brunello wine. Continue towards the farmhouse Podere Casaccia until you reach a crossroads which joins up with the main provincial road. After a few hundred metres the dirt road starts again, pass the farmhouses Poderi Casello and Pian dell'Asso and cross the railway and the streams of the Asso and Tuoma to arrive at a pond formed from the Fosso di Fonte di Calda; continue on to the Madonna di Riguardo and then there is a hilly stretch of about 1.5 km to arrive at the medieval village of San Quirico d'Orcia.
